I really dislike blogging about music or movies but lately there isn't anything I'd rather do on my blogspot than gush about my latest new love in the world of multimedia...

so today it's a wonderful CD that I haven't even finished listening to I'm on track 5.
the CD is called "catching up with depeche mode" and it's easily my faveorite Depeche mode CD.which may be odd because I own their classics "Black celebration","Music for the masses" and "violator" which are most people faveorites.this Cd is a "best of" album before depeche mode even really had any hits.their "gothic-dance" nstyle that most people recognise is nowhere to be seen on these songs because this was made before they had made any of those type of songs.but for some reason I totally love the old bubbely synth pop style they had long ago. They have probably reached what I'd call my "exact-taste" they sound just like I want them to sound, just the best synthesizer lines and the best choruses.I don't know,if you think you might possibly be a fan of 80's dance music I can't think of any other CD I'd rather reccomend than this CD it's extremly fun and only 10 mdollars most places.every song is something to write home about...and that's what I'm doing here...

This music artist that I really like,Amon Tobin, has a song called "like regular chickens".When I read this it instantly brought back a scene from "Eraserhead" in my head. It's one of the funniest scene in my opinion.Jack is having dinner with his future-parents-in-law,and they put very tiny chickens in front of Jack for him to carve.Jack turns to the father and asks "do I just cut 'em up like regular chickens?" And the father replies saying "Sure! just cut 'em up like regular chickens."and it's funny the way he says it.It's funny that Jack has to carve these puny things but I think the redundant answer the Jack recieves is hilarious...I'm glad Amon Tobin has a special place in his heart for this scene because for some reason whenever I think of it it makes me laugh...I really wish someone I knew has seen this movie but no one has even heard of it....I want to share discussion about with someone....

Anyways,y'all know how I feel about blockbuster summer movies and such,I'm not big into them.I have a hard time calling most of the big-budget movies "art" but i think I'm going to gsuh about a movie I saw the other night and absolutly loved. It's called "war of the worlds"it stars that nut Tom Cruise and that everlastingly cute Dakota Fanning. If you liked "independance day" even slightly,I'd say you should watch wotw.I can honestly say it's the scariest movie I've seen in a long time, and not scary in a typical horror way but if you see the movie you'll understand excactly what I mean. It's heavy, foreboding and bone-shatteringly tense. The sight of the alien spacecraft is one million times more impressive and horrific than the "mothership" scene on independance day".everything about the movie is more intelligent and less hokey than independance day and there isn't any "UP YOURS!" scene either...
I say watch it,but make sure to watch it in the theatre you'll have buckets of fun I promise...
